Í síðustu viku fengum við þrjá gesti í heimsókn frá Maarja Küla í Eistlandi. Voru þar á ferð samstarfsaðilar í verkefninu Frelsi til að velja (e. Freedom of my choice). Verkefnið fjallar um réttindamál fatlaðs fólks og voru þar útbúin myndbönd um málefni sem hver og einn þátttakandi valdi sjálfur. Það var unnið í samstarfi við fólk frá Svíþjóð, Eistlandi, Lettlandi og Litháen.
Gestirnir voru hér dagana 7. – 13. júní og fengu kynningu á starfsemi félagsins í Vinnu og virkni og búsetu. Auk þess heimsóttu þeir aðra staði sem þjónusta fólk með fötlun á Íslandi og nýttu tækifærið í leiðinni til þess að ferðast um landið.

Last week three visitors came from Maarja Küla in Estonia. They were our partners in the project Freedom of my choice. The project was about promoting various Rights of people with disabilities. Each participant picked a human rights issue of his choice and the team worked together on innovative videos to present their specific issues in an easy to read and easy to understand format. The project was carried out in collaboration with people from Sweden, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
The guests were here from 7th to 13th of June and learned about the services provided in Ás styrktarfélag. In addition, they visited other places that provide services to people with disabilities in Iceland and used the opportunity to travel around the country.
